Sarah Silverman | Born 1970

Aside from having a knack for acting, singing, writing, and producing, Sarah Silverman is one of the most recognizable comedians who capitalized on satire. Throwing audacious, tongue-in-cheek statements allowed her to voice out her insights on social taboos and topics such as racism, sexism, and religion. Silverman was exposed to different crowds during her teenage days, performing in local clubs and theatres, and eventually stopped pursuing a college degree to start a full-time career as a comedian. Her first major appearance was in Saturday Night Live, which was then followed by HBO’s Mr. Show, parlaying her career in comedy to credits in feature films. In 2007, she hosted The Sarah Silverman Show, which continued airing for three years.

The 50-year-old is one of the comedians who have been uncertain of their footing at the moment. With the decline of standup comedy, an initiative was taken by the comedians to start broadcasting their shows online.
