Ali MacGraw| Born 1939

Ali MacGraw gained everyone’s attention when she did the 1969 movie Goodbye, Columbus, making her earn the Golden Globe Award for Most Promising Newcomer. In just one year, she gained international prominence when the 1970 film Love Story won her a Golden Globe for Best Actress. Despite being just a newbie, the now-82-year-old star was voted the top female box office star in the world. She even received a hands and footprints ceremony at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre.

Aside from acting, MacGraw also showed her talent in yoga and became a Hatha Yoga devotee in her early 50s. She then made an investment to produce a yoga video, along with the American Yoga Master Erich Schiffman, and it was a success. It turned to be a bestseller, and Vanity Fair even named MacGraw one of the people responsible for making yoga a success in the US.
