The great actress Phylicia Rashad started her career in the early 1970s, with a guest role in an episode of Delvecchio. The now-73-year-old star also ventured into different branches of the entertainment world. She became a singer and a stage actor, loved by many.
Fans will probably remember her as Clair Huxtable in the iconic sitcom The Cosby Show. She also gets credit as The Mother of The Black Community with the honor she has brought to the circle. Rashad was the first black actress who won the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play in 2004, thanks to her role in the revival of A Raisin in the Sun. From here, she did a lot of Broadway shows, from Into the Woods to Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Just this year, Howard University’s Fine Arts college appointed Rashad as its new dean.
