Monica Lewinsky | Born 1973

Monica Lewinsky was simply an intern working in the White House when she was embroiled in a scandal involving the then-president, Bill Clinton. She became tabloid fodder and the source of jokes for several years, which should have broken her. To her credit, she continued to hustle to earn money to keep her afloat. Fortunately, Lewinsky has found her voice as an anti-cyberbullying activist, and rightly so.

She went on to establish a handbag line and even worked on a book called Monica’s Story to air her side of the story. She was offered the position of host for Mr. Personality and worked as a spokeswoman for Jenny Craig, among others. Lewinsky has turned her life around over the years from being bullied to giving a TEDTalk and more. Many are changing their tune about the former intern too. Even the former president stated that the world treated her harshly when she was just trying to live a normal life after the scandal.
